World Cup: Injury Recovery Process Dele Alli Walking Current
England coach Gareth Southgate says midfielder Dele Alli is recovering from an injury he suffered in the opening match of Group G 2018 World Cup against Tunisia. Southgate announced this ahead of the party versus Belgium, Thursday (28/06/2018) WIB.
“Alli’s progress is exciting, he has a chance to practice on the pitch and we will know his condition ahead of Belgium opponents,” Southgate said as reported by Sports Mole.
England have played two games at the 2018 World Cup. But Alli just appeared briefly due to injury when the first Group G World Cup game begins.
Nevertheless, England was still able to perform optimally. They successfully defeated Tunisia 2-1, and crushed Panama 6-1. The Three Lions Team – the English nickname – also stayed against Belgium for the title of Group G champions. Both teams have made sure of qualifying for the last 16 of the World Cup.
Despite the excitement, Southgate is reluctant to ensure Alli can play against Belgium. According to the 47-year-old coach, if Alli fitter, the decision to play it is an easy decision.
“It makes the pressure slightly less, but if he is ready, it will be a good chance for Alli,” Southgate said.
